Connect WhatsApp

New Connectora organizations use your own Meta Developer App by default. You paste the App ID and App Secret, register Connectora's webhook on that app, then connect a WhatsApp Business Account (WABA).

Before you start

  1. Access to Meta for Developers and Meta Business Manager
  2. A WhatsApp Business phone number you can verify
  3. Connectora WhatsApp admin role

Steps

1. Open WhatsApp Setup

In the admin sidebar, open WhatsApp Setup. The page badge should read Your Meta app.

2. Save your Meta Developer App credentials

Under Your Meta Developer App:

  1. Enter your Meta App ID and App Secret
  2. Save
  3. Copy the Webhook callback URL and Verify token shown in Connectora

3. Configure the webhook in Meta

In Meta → your app → WhatsApp → Configuration:

  1. Paste the Connectora callback URL and verify token
  2. Subscribe to messages
  3. Keep this webhook on the organization-scoped URL Connectora shows (it includes your organization id)

4. Connect the WABA and phone

Still on WhatsApp Setup:

  1. Enter WABA ID, Phone number ID, display number, and a Cloud API access token
  2. Click Save connection
  3. Confirm status shows Connected

Optional: set catalog id / catalog message if you sell from WhatsApp catalogs.

5. Sync templates

Open Templates and run Sync from Meta so approved templates appear for inbox sends and broadcasts.

Platform Meta app (alternate path)

Some orgs use Connectora's shared platform Meta app instead. A platform super admin can turn off bring-your-own mode for an organization. In that case WhatsApp Setup hides the App ID/Secret form and uses the shared webhook path.

Common issues

  • Webhook verification fails - paste the exact URL and verify token from WhatsApp Setup; use the org-scoped path when BYO is on
  • Phone not appearing - finish business verification in Meta Business Manager
  • Templates missing - sync templates after the WABA is connected; only Meta-approved templates are sendable
  • Token expired - paste a new access token in WhatsApp Setup; you do not need to re-enter WABA IDs
