Message templates
Templates are required to message customers outside the 24-hour session window. Enterprise
Create and approve templates in Meta Business Manager
Before anything can be sent by Connectora, you must create templates in Meta:
- Choose a template name (this is what Connectora shows in the UI)
- Choose a language
- Choose a category:
utility(transactional)marketing(promotional)
- Add the required components:
- include placeholders/variables where you need dynamic values
When Meta approves templates, they become available in Connectora after sync.
Sync templates inside Connectora
- In Connectora, open the Templates page.
- Click Sync from Meta.
- Wait for the sync to complete (the UI refreshes after sync).
Check approval status
Connectora shows template cards with:
Approved(sendable)Rejected(not sendable)Pending(not ready yet)
Rejected templates will not sync as sendable. Make sure the template is approved in Meta for the exact template name + language you plan to use.
Use templates in your app
You can use synced templates in:
- Inbox composer — fill variables in the template send modal with a live preview
- Broadcasts — marketing templates only; variables and preview live in the create form
- Automations actions — map placeholders to store event fields
Template variables (placeholders)
If your template body, header, or dynamic URL button has variables, Connectora collects those fields before send.
- Inbox and broadcasts share the same variable builder and WhatsApp-style preview
- Broadcasts apply one set of values to every recipient
- Automation actions map each placeholder to event payload variables
Common issues
- Template not found in the list:
- verify the template name and language match what you created in Meta
- confirm the template is
Approved
- Broadcast dropdown empty for a template you expect:
- broadcasts only list approved marketing templates
- Variables are blank at delivery:
- fill every field in inbox/broadcasts, or remap automation variables so the store event includes the fields
