Message templates
Templates are required to message customers outside the 24-hour session window. Enterprise
Create and approve templates in Meta Business Manager
Before anything can be sent by Connectora, you must create templates in Meta:
- Choose a template name (this is what Connectora shows in the UI)
- Choose a language
- Choose a category:
utility(transactional)marketing(promotional)
- Add the required components:
- include placeholders/variables where you need dynamic values
When Meta approves templates, they become available in Connectora after sync.
Sync templates inside Connectora
- In Connectora, open the Templates page under your WhatsApp setup.
- Click Sync from Meta.
- Wait for the sync to complete (the UI refreshes after sync).
Check approval status
Connectora shows template cards with:
Approved(sendable)Rejected(not sendable)Pending(not ready yet)
Rejected templates will not sync as sendable. Make sure the template is approved in Meta for the exact template name + language you plan to use.
Use templates in your app
You can use synced templates in:
- Inbox composer (for your team members)
- Automations actions (recommended for reliable delivery)
Template variables (placeholders)
If your template body has variables (for example, customer name, order id, totals), Connectora will show how many variables the template contains.
When you set up an automation action, you map each template placeholder to event payload variables using the Automations UI.
Common issues
- Template not found in the list:
- verify the template name and language match what you created in Meta
- confirm the template is
Approved
- Variables are blank at delivery:
- remap the variables in the automation rule or ensure your store event payload includes the fields
